  • Activating existing knowledge

    Why?

To facilitate students activation of their prior knowledge on the topic is important to support and to enhance the acquisition of new knowledge. Also, making the students prior knowledge visible and sharing it with other students enhances the construction of broader knowledge representations.

How?

The teacher instructs the students to log in at a certain Flinga-session and to send the main points of their discussion to that session. Students then link their comments to the central question or concept that the teacher has added beforehand to the Flinga-wall.

Pro Tip!

It is wise to instruct students to participate with complete understandable sentences (not just random words). However, the sentences should be as brief as possible and include only a single thought.
